How to Keep Warm During Winter Storms with No Electricity

Posted by Save Money Frugal Tips

When the electricity fails during a winter storm, keeping warm becomes a real concern. Not only is it important for your family’s comfort, but also it can be a matter of life and death for the young, old, or infirm. Practice these methods to keep warm during winter storms with no electricity.

How to Keep Warm During Winter Storms with No Electricity

Keep Warm With No Electricity – Fire

If your home is equipped with a fireplace or wood-burning stove, you are in luck if your electricity goes out. Simply put in a good stock of wood and gather the family around the fire for increased light and heat. It can even turn into an adventure like camping indoors.
To maximize the effectiveness of a fireplace or stove, close up the room it is in and keep everyone inside it for the duration of the winter storm. If the room has no doors, hang blankets across doorway openings.

Three Things Frugal Living Website Should Have

Posted by Save Money Frugal Tips

Of course, Save Money Frugal Tips is my favorite out of all the frugal living websites.  There are many on the Internet, some good and some bad.  We at SMFT she tried to give you everything you need to save more money to use the money you do have wisely.

We believe the top three things frugal living websites should have are: frugal living tips, information on the frugal living lifestyle, and personal finance help for both credit, debt, and savings.

Frugal living websites all contain frugal living tips.  If they don’t, they can hardly call themselves a frugal living website.  These steps should be real, helpful, adaptable, and should actually do a good job of saving money.  Including tips in many different aspects of living is ideal.

Frugal living websites should include information on the frugal living lifestyle.  That is to say, explain what it is to live frugally, attitudes and mindsets necessary to appreciate savings of more than spending, and many positive attributes that cannot be done with the normal commercial lifestyle.

Frugal living websites should also include information about personal finance.  The economy is suffering and people are racking up debt more than ever.  Learning to control spending, increase savings, and deal with any debt that occurs as an important part of living frugally.  While educating yourself on how to save 25 to 30% on your grocery bill will help keep you out of debt, knowing what to do with that savings to maximize its effectiveness is more important.

Posted by Save Money Frugal Tips

The main idea behind Freecycle was waste reduction and making sure that the landscape was not taken over by garbage dumps. Basically, Freecycle provides online communities, based on geographic location, that helps people give, and receive, free items within the community. There are currently over two million Freecycle members.
